Surgical Fee Structure

If you wish to have your surgery performed at a private hospital you will need to either have private health insurance (not just Medicare) or be a self insured patient (pay for the cost of the surgery yourself).

Privately Insured Patients

If you have private health insurance we utilise the various ‘Gap cover’ systems for payment of surgical accounts via your health insurance fund. Please be advised however, that there may be a co-payment required for some health insurance funds and/or some surgical procedures. We will, at the time of booking your operative procedure, give you a fully itemized quote with regard to the out of pocket expenses you will incur for the surgery, including the costs associated with the anaesthetist and assistant surgeon. Any costs for Mr Dunin includes all consultations for 3 months postoperatively from the operation date.

You can claim a portion of Mr Dunin's, the anaesthetist and assistant surgeons fee from Medicare. However, the hospital account is not claimable at all through Medicare.
