Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do I need to bring to my consultation?

It is necessary that you have a referral from your GP or referring specialist to see Mr Dunin. If you have had any xrays or scans performed prior to your consultation with Mr Dunin, then it would be beneficial if you brought these along. We also require your Medicare card details and private health insurance details.

  • Can xrays be provided on site?

We do not perform xrays in our building, however our rooms are within the grounds of Knox Private Hospital who have a large xray department. Xrays, including CT scans, MRI, ultrasound and general xrays can all be performed through the hospital xray centre.

  • Does Mr Dunin treat patients who injure themselves at work?

Mr Dunin is quite happy to see Workcover patients. Please note that you will be required to pay the account for all consultations on the day of the consultation. You will then need to claim the account from Workcover or Medicare yourself. It is important that you bring along the following information to your appointment:

    • Insurance Company handling the Worksafe Claim
    • Claim Number
    • Date of Injury

  • Does Mr Dunin treat patients injured in a motor vehicle accident?

Mr Dunin is happy to treat TAC patients. However, all patients are required to pay for their consultation on the day and claim the account through TAC themselves.

  • Does Mr Dunin treat Veterans Affairs Patients?

Mr Dunin does treat Veterans Affairs patients. Just remember to bring along your Veterans Affairs card with you. You will not be out of pocket for any service provided by Mr Dunin.

  • Do I need to pay for my consultation at the time of the appointment?

Mr Dunin does require payment of his account at the time of consultation. We are able to electronically claim the Medicare rebate for the account through Medicare on your behalf if you so desire.

  • What out of pocket expenses will I incur if surgery is required?

If you are covered by Worksafe, TAC or Veterans Affairs there will be no out of pocket costs for your surgery.

Your health insurance should cover the majority of the account for Mr Dunin. However, we will give you a quote for any surgery necessary at the time of booking your surgery with us. Please feel free to contact our rooms if you would like more information with regards to expenses related to surgery.
